SkillWise is a leading provider of electronic portfolio services to the education and healthcare sectors. The data that users store within the e-portfolio is very valuable and highly sensitive, having sometimes been amassed over a period of many years. Users require access to their e-portfolios 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
The e-portfolio service is provided via a Software as a Service (SaaS) platform, residing within a hosted infrastructure.
The challenges SkillWise faced before engaging with Egham Tech were of providing a service that was secure, offered fast response speeds, was robust, scalable and available almost 100% up-time. The dilemma was that SkillWise were not big enough to manage the in-house hiring of a full-time team of high-end IT, Cloud and Security specialists. Nevertheless, SkillWise needed such resources to be of the highest quality.
When SkillWise engaged with Egham Tech, our consultants initially spent some time getting to understand the client’s product, customers and the factors that were critical to SkillWise success. We then formulated a phased plan which would step by step move the client to a far better, more resilient structure, whilst simultaneously maintaining continuity of delivery. The migration to a new and better infrastructure was completed very carefully and professionally, with minimal interruption to service.
As a result of Egham Tech intervention, the biggest change in SkillWise business has been peace of mind. The infrastructure is now stable and offers customers a dependable and fast service.
