Their online learning system delivers certificate programmes and short courses to thousands of daily users from many different organisations.
During 2014 and as a result of their rapid growth, a number of issues emerged with their client facing Online IT systems. The system was bespoke and difficult to support:
- Many users reported slow website response and errors were repeatedly occurring;
- Some users were periodically losing data they had entered;
- Internal IT specialists were struggling to understand the poorly documented software.
Egham Tech were engaged to review the entire system. Six key areas of concern were identified. These were prioritized, and plans outlined to incrementally but rapidly reduce any negative impact. At the same time, a larger and more ambitious plan was prepared, which recommended all the systems be migrated to a more stable Egham Tech Private Cloud infrastructure.
The recommended steps were implemented, which completely resolved the existing problems. As a result, the go ahead was given very quickly to proceed with the migration to the new infrastructure. As a result the client systems are now fully stable, the improvement in performance has been better than promised, and Learning Curve Group are ready for further expansion. Furthermore the ROI on the investment required has been generated in less than one year.
