THE CUSTOMER
Admiral Scaffolding Group is a long established London based firm with a reputation for providing quality scaffolding service to all areas within the M25 and Surrey.
THE PROBLEM
Prior to Egham’s involvement, Admiral Group had no unified system to manage all aspects of their day-to-day operations. Like many other businesses, they had thousands of Excel and Word files created by different people without a consistent structure or thought.
Admiral’s business, however, is a very complex operation with most contracts lasting for months and years with frequent variations and additions over the course of a contract. Moreover, many hiring contracts overrun their agreed hiring time period due to customer and 3-rd party delays which presents a number of challenges to managing such complex contracts.
On top of managing the accounting side of multiple complex multi-year contracts, another challenge was to manage employees and sub-contractors working on such contracts on daily basis.
Last but not least, Admiral had complex manual processes for estimating and pricing their contracts, as calculating all materials and labour needed for complex construction projects is not a trivial task.
THE SOLUTION
After exploring the market and reviewing existing products, Admiral found nothing to meet their requirements within a reasonable budget. Egham were approached for help.
Egham have been working with Admiral to develop a bespoke system since 2001. Having analyzed their requirements, we suggested the best architecture for a modern and responsive system and worked with Admiral’s management to specify and then develop a successful and comprehensive solution to their business requirements.
THE RESULT
The application is used daily by all employees and partners.
The application has become the core of Admiral’s successful management of Customers, Contracts, Estimates, Quotes, Invoices and Daily Worksheets.
Initially, it was developed as a Windows application with MSSQL database. Over the years it was improved continuously and developed into an online software that can be accessed from any device whether users are in the office or on the move.
We have subsequently productised this software as a standalone product which is known in the industry as THE BOSS. It is generally available to any scaffolding and hiring business.
